Accessifiers recently hosted a dynamic resume-building workshop designed specifically for the deaf community. The workshop aimed to provide participants with comprehensive guidance on crafting professional resumes that stand out in today's competitive job market. With a blend of interactive presentations and hands-on activities, attendees were able to create personalized resumes with the help of Rezi, an online tool for building Applicant Tracking System (ATS)-friendly resumes.
The workshop started with an introduction to resume writing, emphasizing the importance of resumes as gateways to employment opportunities. Participants learned about the key sections every resume should include—Contact Information, Skills, Education, and Experience. They also explored how to highlight on-the-job training (OJT), personal projects, and academic achievements effectively.
One of the highlights of the session was the practical experience using Rezi, which allows job seekers to tailor their resumes for better chances of passing ATS filters. Attendees received step-by-step guidance on how to create an account, enter their contact details, and structure their resumes using action words and quantifiable achievements.
The workshop concluded with participants crafting their own resumes, followed by a preview and discussion session. This initiative by Accessifiers is a testament to their commitment to empowering the deaf community with the tools and skills necessary to succeed in the workforce.
