What We Do
We seek to find strategic areas where our technology and cultural expertise can address important unmet needs for people with disabilities and make outsized impact with limited resources. Together with our local partners, we lean on and amplify each other's strengths so as to make impact that is much more than what we can separately accomplish.
Access to Wellness
In the Philippines, mental health services are costly, and mental health issues are often stigmatized and misunderstood. To address this challenge, this program offers free mental health services to eligible recipients.
Access to Speech Therapy
At schools for the deaf in the Philippines, speech therapy is used as a way to help students gain communication skills that allow them to better integrate into society. As this can be costly, the "Access to Speech Therapy Services" program aims to provide free speech therapy to qualified low-income students.
Access to School
Students who travel to school must typically must bear the cost of transportation to and from school each day. This program covers this cost for qualifying individuals based on need.
Special Grants
The Special Grants program offers needs-based financial assistance to schools and individuals for various urgent needs that may arise. Previous grants have included food, masks during the pandemic, and flashlights to address a power crisis.
Access to Counseling
Rising mental health issues are not being adequately addressed due to limited access, lack of awareness, and stigma. To tackle this, we plan to implement a communication platform with a messaging app that offers mental health counseling through conversational AI chatbots with oversight and intervention from trained providers as needed.
Accessibility Ratings
This program aims to develop an accessibility ratings app that will bridge the gap in accessibility information for software products. By crowd-sourcing reports from users and accessibility testers, the platform will provide valuable insights to users, organizations, and software providers, allowing them to understand and improve the accessibility of their applications.
tech-enABLEd
In the Philippines, people with disabilities face significant barriers to education and employment due to limited support and resources. The “tech-enABLEd” program aims to address these challenges by offering free, hands-on, and resource-supported training designed to provide real-work experience and improve job prospects.
Access to Tech Jobs
People with disabilities in the Philippines face significant challenges in the job market, including skill mismatches and limited employment opportunities. This program provides personalized career counseling, upskilling workshops in high-demand fields, and remote job placement assistance to help students at schools for the deaf and blind secure meaningful employment.
Accessible Educational Tech
Schools for the deaf and blind in the Philippines struggle with limited access to essential technology, hindering students' educational opportunities. The Educational Tech program addresses this by providing tablets, computers, accessible apps, and software, along with wireless networks and ongoing technical support tailored to their needs.
